Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has made a profoundly significant appeal advocating for equal rights for citizens of all religions across the country and calling for collective efforts toward national development, while he firmly stated that from the liberation of Bangladesh to the protection of its hard-earned democracy, people belonging to every single religion and diverse social background have fought shoulder to shoulder. Consequently, to propel the nation forward and strengthen its foundations, everyone must unite and move ahead together to ensure lasting peace and brotherhood.

The Bangladeshi Prime Minister expressed these views while participating in the Shardiya felicitation program organized at the puja pavilion of the Radha Gobind Dharmasabha Temple located in Rangpur. During his address, he emphasized that people belonging to different religious faiths have been living together in absolute peace and harmony in Bangladesh for thousands of years, while it's the core intention and priority of the government to ensure that this glorious centuries-old tradition continues uninterrupted for the next thousand years without any form of religious discrimination.

Contribution Of Every Class From Freedom Struggle To Democracy

In his comprehensive speech, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman specifically recalled the historic 1971 Liberation War and the numerous crucial movements waged to safeguard democracy in the country. He reminded the citizens that when the war of independence was being fought in 1971, nobody looked at anyone's religion or community. During that critical period, countless individuals with diverse religious beliefs, political ideologies, and socio-professional backgrounds united to wage a fierce struggle to liberate the country from oppression.

Plus, he openly referenced the student-led historic uprising that took place in the year 2024. According to the Prime Minister, people from various religions, political thoughts, and social strata poured onto the streets in large numbers during this recent movement to claim their fundamental rights. He made a very clear and earnest appeal that neither our glorious liberation war nor the 2024 student movement should ever be subjected to attempts aimed at making them controversial or tarnishing their legacy.

Tarique Rahman categorically stated that if any individual or group wishes to raise a grievance or present their perspective, the parliament is the proper platform where such issues should be brought forward. He strongly urged all citizens who have unwavering faith in democracy to maintain complete unity so that the nation remains immune to any internal or external conspiracies.

Massive Fund Of 1,800 Crore Taka For Rangpur Development

Addressing the critical front of national development, the Prime Minister firmly assured that his government intends to work with absolute dedication not only for those who voted for his party in past elections but equally for all citizens regardless of their political choices. The primary objective of the government is to ensure an equitable distribution of resources across all regions and guarantee balanced regional development so that no area feels neglected or discriminated against.

In line with this vision, he made a major announcement stating that approximately two weeks ago, a crucial meeting of ECNEC was held wherein a massive development fund amounting to 1,800 crore taka was officially approved for the comprehensive development of Rangpur city. In addition, with the active support of the Local Government Ministry, extensive development works including bridges, culverts, schools, colleges, and various other essential civic amenities will be executed across different upazilas, unions, and remote villages of the district. He stressed that to successfully complete all these welfare projects and steer the country toward greater progress, citizens must cast aside mutual differences and work collaboratively.

Warm Welcome At The Temple And Financial Assistance Of 10 Lakh Taka

Upon arriving for this significant visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman first landed at the Saidpur Airport and proceeded directly to the temple premises. As soon as he reached the venue, he was accorded a very warm reception accompanied by traditional and religious rituals. During the welcome ceremony, young children performed a graceful dance to greet the Prime Minister. Throughout the event, he interacted cordially with the devotees and worshippers gathered at the temple.

During the proceedings, Temple President Bhabotosh Sarkar and General Secretary Khokon Sarkar felicitated the Prime Minister by presenting him with a ceremonial crest, while in response, demonstrating immense goodwill, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed over an official cheque of 10 lakh taka to support the temple. In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister reiterated that Bangladesh is the shared home of people belonging to all faiths and the administration is committed to working for the welfare of every single citizen. He finally urged everyone to discard mutual grievances, stay completely united, and contribute meaningfully to the holistic development of the nation.
