In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the Meerut district, the local police have successfully solved the murder case of Tushar Tyagi within a mere 24 hours. The investigation led to a startling revelation as the victim's own father, Sundar Tyagi, was identified as the primary perpetrator, while the police have arrested Sundar Tyagi along with his accomplice, Amit alias Vedwan, for their direct involvement in the cold-blooded killing. While the investigation into the role of another individual named Arvind Tyagi alias Bittu is currently underway, the primary suspects are now in custody.
The Midnight Discovery and Initial Investigation
The case came to light late Monday night around 12 AM when the police received a distress call on the Dial-112 emergency service. The caller reported that a young man had been shot inside a Scorpio vehicle near the Panchi underpass within the jurisdiction of the Kharkhoda police station. Upon reaching the scene, the police discovered the lifeless body of Tushar Tyagi inside the car, while recognizing the gravity of the situation, forensic teams were immediately summoned to the spot to collect evidence and initiate a thorough probe into the incident.
Strategic Police Action and Technical Surveillance
Following the recovery of the body, the victim's wife, Shikha, filed a formal complaint, leading to the registration of a murder case. Under the direct instructions of the SSP Meerut, three specialized teams were formed, including the Kharkhoda police and the SWAT team (Rural). These teams utilized a combination of technical evidence, CCTV footage, and surveillance to piece together the events leading up to the murder. The investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, the main accused, Sundar Tyagi, had traveled from Dehradun to Kankarkheda, while from there, he proceeded to the Doyami-Kaili area accompanied by his associate, Amit alias Vedwan.
CCTV Evidence and the Final Act
Crucial evidence was gathered from a liquor shop in Kaili Dhirkheda, where CCTV footage showed Amit purchasing beer cans. Further analysis of surveillance cameras along the route showed Tushar Tyagi's Scorpio and the suspects' Thar vehicle moving together. This confirmed the police's initial suspicion regarding the father's involvement. During interrogation, Sundar Tyagi confessed that he was present inside the Scorpio with his son at the time of the incident. He admitted to shooting Tushar and then fleeing the scene in the Thar, leaving the body behind in the Scorpio near the Panchi underpass.
Motive and Criminal Background
The motive behind this heinous crime was rooted in deep-seated suspicion and family disputes. Sundar Tyagi informed the police that he believed his son, Tushar, had issued a contract (supari) worth 10 lakh rupees to have him killed. On top of that, he claimed that Tushar frequently engaged in physical altercations with family members. Sundar Tyagi, a resident of Doyami village in the Hapur Dehat area, is a former history-sheeter with a long criminal record, including multiple cases of murder and other serious offenses. While two suspects have been apprehended, the police are actively conducting raids to arrest one more individual whose role has surfaced during the investigation.
