On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for rain in the districts of Nainital, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh etc. for the next 72 hours.

At the same time, movement was disrupted on many connectivity routes including Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. On the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway, near the Parrot Valley, suddenly around 11.30 am, debris came from the hill. Police diverted vehicles going from Devprayag to Rishikesh for Srinagar via Chaka-Gaza-Gulf road. Vehicles coming from Srinagar side are being sent towards Rishikesh via Maletha. The process of falling stones and debris from the hill between Narkota and Samrat Hotel on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway continues. Vehicles were sent via Tilwara Ghansali Tehri.

Alert to the people living on the banks of the river

Due to incessant rains on Friday, the water level of Alaknanda and Mandakini in Rudraprayag crossed the danger mark. After 5 pm, the water level in the rivers increased further, after which the administration alerted the people living along the river to stay at safer places. Torrential rains started in the district since Friday morning which continued till late evening. During this, life was disrupted in many places, the donkeys also came in spate and the water level of Alaknanda and Mandakini also increased. The water level of Alaknanda reached above 627 meters while the water level of Mandakini also remained at 626 meters. It is being done separately by the administration for people to go to safer places.

Srinagar: All ghats submerged

The water level of Alaknanda river in Srinagar increased due to incessant rains. Due to which all the ghats along the river bank were submerged in water. On which the administration issued an alert to the people living on the banks of the river through the municipality. SDM Ravindra Singh Bisht said that the water level of the river has gone above the alert label.

Water also increased in Pindar river due to rain

The torrential rain that started late Thursday night in Pindar Valley continues till Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Karnprayag-Gwaldam National Highway has been closed for traffic at many places due to debris, stones and boulders. Along with this, all other state, district and rural motor roads of the valley are also closed for traffic due to landslides and landslides. Meanwhile, the water level is increasing rapidly in the Pindar, Kaiel and Pranmati rivers flowing in the region. For the first time in this monsoon season, the normal life of Tharali, Dewal and Narayanbagad blocks of Pindar Valley has been disturbed due to continuous torrential rains for more than last 24 hours.
