In a proactive move to support students appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026, the Jabalpur Division of Western Railway has announced the operation of dedicated special trains. This initiative is designed to manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic as thousands of candidates and their families travel to various examination centers across the region, while the railway's decision aligns with the broader administrative efforts to ensure that the examination process remains smooth and that students can focus on their performance without worrying about transportation hurdles. The preparations for the NEET exam have intensified across the country, with both central and state governments working in tandem to ensure a successful and easy event.

Detailed Schedule of NEET Special Trains

The special train services are scheduled to operate on June 20, 2026, connecting major hubs like Indore, Bhopal, and Ratlam. The primary objective of these services is to provide a reliable and comfortable mode of transport for NEET aspirants, while railway officials noted that during major national examinations, regular train services often face extreme pressure, leading to waitlists and overcrowding. By introducing these special trains, the railway aims to provide a dedicated corridor for students, ensuring they reach their exam cities well in time. This move follows the railway's commitment to ensuring that even the question papers reach the centers securely, and now the focus has shifted to the candidates themselves.

The first of these services is the Indore-Bhopal (via Ratlam) Special Train, designated with the number 09354. This train is set to depart from Indore station at 11:25 AM on June 20. Its route is strategically planned to cover several important towns, making stops at Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj, Badnagar, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain, Maksi, Shujalpur, Sehore, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar. The train is expected to reach Bhopal by 7:00 PM on the same evening, providing ample time for students to settle in before their scheduled activities. This route covers a significant portion of the Western Railway network, benefiting students from diverse locations.

Complementing this service is the Bhopal-Ratlam Special Train, numbered 09353. This train will begin its journey from Bhopal at 7:40 PM on June 20. It will follow a similar return path, stopping at Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Sehore, Shujalpur, Maksi, Ujjain, and Nagda, before concluding its journey at Ratlam at 12:55 AM the following day. This late-night arrival is intended to help students from the Ratlam and Nagda regions return home safely after completing their requirements in Bhopal. The timing has been specifically adjusted to match the conclusion of exam-related formalities, ensuring that no student is left stranded.

Coach Configuration and Passenger Capacity

To ensure that a significant number of passengers can be accommodated, the railway has allocated a total of 17 coaches for these special runs. The configuration consists of 13 sleeper class coaches, which will provide necessary comfort for those traveling longer distances. On top of that, there are 2 general category coaches for unreserved travel and 2 SLR/D coaches for luggage and guard requirements. This mix of coaches is intended to cater to different travel needs and budgets of the candidates and their accompanying guardians. The inclusion of a large number of sleeper coaches highlights the railway's focus on providing a restful journey for the students.

Railway authorities have reiterated their commitment to student welfare, stating that all necessary logistical arrangements are being finalized. The 'NEET Express' initiative is seen as a vital support system for students in Madhya Pradesh, particularly those traveling between Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal. Officials have stated that the goal is to ensure that the additional crowd doesn't disrupt the regular flow of traffic while providing a specialized service for the examinees. Passengers are strongly encouraged to check the official railway website or use the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) to stay updated on any last-minute changes to the schedule or platform assignments. The railway has also emphasized the importance of reaching the stations early to avoid any last-minute rush and to ensure a stress-free start to their examination journey.
