All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad Member of Parliament, Asaduddin Owaisi, has launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at the Jalsa-e-Rahmatul-lil-Alameen organized at Darussalam on the occasion of the 1501st Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Owaisi expressed his strong disagreement with the recent order passed by the Allahabad High Court regarding the Hijab. He characterized the judicial order as a direct assault on the tenets of Islam and an unwarranted interference in the religious practices of the Muslim community. Owaisi pointed out that this matter is currently reserved for judgment in the Supreme Court, making the High Court's intervention particularly contentious from his perspective.
Allegations Against RSS Regarding the Constitution
During his address, Owaisi raised serious allegations against the RSS, claiming that the organization has historically prioritized the Manusmriti over the Indian Constitution. He questioned the members of the Sangh, asking whether it wasn't a fact that India adopted its Constitution on 26 November 1949. He further alleged that just 4 days later, on 30 November 1949, the RSS mouthpiece published a complaint stating that the document wasn't a proper constitution and should have been replaced by the Manusmriti. According to Owaisi, the RSS had significant issues with the Constitution drafted under the leadership of Dr. R, while ambedkar.
Comparison of Freedom Fighters and Savarkar
D. Savarkar, the AIMIM chief compared his actions in the Cellular Jail of Andaman with those of Muslim freedom fighters. Owaisi stated that Savarkar was a supporter of the Manusmriti. " In contrast, Owaisi highlighted the resilience of Allama Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi, who was also imprisoned but endured various hardships without ever writing a letter of apology to the British.
The First Prisoner of Cellular Jail
In a significant historical claim, Owaisi asserted that the first prisoner sent to the Andaman Islands was a cleric from Hyderabad. He asked the audience who the first prisoner in Andaman was, stating it wasn't their fathers, grandfathers, or ancestors, but Maulvi Alauddin of Hyderabad. He identified Maulvi Alauddin as the Imam of the Mecca Masjid and declared him the first prisoner of the Cellular Jail. Owaisi also used this platform to attack the ruling party regarding comments made by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, concerning the Manusmriti.
Concerns Over SIR and Drug Addiction
" He urged them not to be afraid or troubled by any notices they might receive, while he assured them that he and his party workers stand firmly with them throughout the process. Plus, Owaisi expressed grave concern over the rising drug addiction in Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad. He noted that many young people are falling victim to addiction, ruining their lives and futures. Sharing a personal anecdote, he mentioned that he used to smoke cigarettes but has since quit. He encouraged those struggling with addiction to seek his help, promising to assist them in reaching de-addiction centers.
Demand for Anti-Murder Squad and Fast-Track Courts
To curb the ongoing incidents of murder in Hyderabad, Owaisi demanded that the Telangana government establish a dedicated 'Anti-Murder Squad' for prevention and investigation. He proposed that trials for murder cases should be completed within 1 year to ensure swift justice. He urged the Chief Minister to request the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court to consider setting up special courts for the fast-track hearing of murder cases. Owaisi confirmed that he has already submitted a memorandum to the Telangana government regarding these demands.
