Earlier, Bas Daliday took four wickets with his medium pace bowling as Netherlands bowled out Pakistan for 286 runs in 49 overs in their opening match of the ODI World Cup. Pakistan team lost the wickets of both the openers and captain Babar Azam in the initial over, but after this Mohammad Rizwan (68 runs in 75 balls) and Saud Shakeel (68 runs in 52 balls) scored a wicket in 114 balls for the fourth wicket. Made a comeback of the team in the match by making a partnership of 120 runs.
While Daliday took wickets in the middle overs, off-spinners Aryan Dutt (one wicket for 48 runs) and Colin Ackerman (two wickets for 39 runs) took advantage of the spin-friendly pitch in Hyderabad. The Netherlands team is participating in the World Cup after 12 years. The team used eight bowlers against Pakistan.
Dutt opened the bowling with Logan van Beek and Pakistan lost the wickets of Fakhar Zaman (12), Babar (five) and Imam ul Haq (15) by the 10th over. Van Beek walked Fakhar while Ackerman walked Babar. Paul van Meekeran dismissed Imam on his first ball.
Rizwan and Saud made Pakistan's comeback in the match but Dutt gave a big blow to Pakistan by dismissing Saud who was batting fast. Saud hit nine fours and one six in his innings. After this Daliday bowled Rizwan.
Mohammad Nawaz (39) and Shadab Khan (39) made a partnership of 64 runs for the seventh wicket and took the team beyond 250 runs. Pakistan team was moving towards 300 runs but Daliday stopped the run pace by dismissing Shadab and Hasan Ali (0) on consecutive balls. Pakistan team could not play full 50 overs of its quota.
