Assembly elections will be held before September

Home Minister Amit Shah claimed during the interview that assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir before the month of September. Shah said that establishing democracy in Jammu and Kashmir is the promise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it will be fulfilled. Taking aim at some parties, Shah said that now democracy in Jammu and Kashmir will not be limited to only three families. This will be people's democracy.

Shah also spoke on reservation

On the reservation of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Shah said that for the first time the Modi government has given reservation to the OBCs of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, one-third reservation has been given to women. He said that OBC reservation was given in Panchayat and urban local bodies. We have made space for SC and ST. Paharis have been given 10 per cent reservation, without reducing the share of Gujjars and Bakarwals. Special provisions have been made to accommodate displaced people from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He said that the Central Government is committed to ensure that these benefits reach the grassroots level.
