In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India must no longer remain dependent on other nations and must strive to become completely self-reliant or Atmanirbhar, while he noted that over the last 12 years, the country has gained significant momentum in its developmental journey. This year's celebrations placed a special focus on the youth of the country. A spectacular display was put on by 2500 NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers, who gathered at Gyanpath to form a massive human formation of the words Vande Mataram, showcasing the energy and dedication of the younger generation.

The security for the event was exceptionally tight, with 15000 to 20000 personnel deployed to ensure a safe environment. Monitoring was conducted through more than 1000 CCTV cameras installed across the venue. The event was attended by 5000 special guests who witnessed the historic proceedings from the ramparts of the Red Fort as the Prime Minister delivered his speech.
Revolution in Railways and Technology
Highlighting the advancements in the transport sector, PM Modi announced that the country's first hydrogen-powered train has commenced operations. He compared the pace of development by stating that while it took 90 years for railway electrification in the past, his government achieved 70 percent electrification in just 10 years. He also touched upon the challenges faced during global conflicts, mentioning how some people spread rumors that gas and petrol would become unavailable. He criticized those who turned resources into weapons during times of crisis.
Semiconductors and Energy Security
The Prime Minister asserted that India would achieve mastery in semiconductors, critical minerals, and energy security. He informed the nation that 3 semiconductor plants have already started operations in the country, and 4 to 5 more plants are expected to begin in the near future. Emphasizing the importance of energy, he stated that it would be difficult to run the new world without it. India has set a target of achieving 100 GW of atomic energy by the year 2047 to ensure long-term energy security.
Solar Energy and Piped Gas Expansion
PM Modi shared impressive statistics regarding energy distribution. Before 2014, piped gas was available in only 70 cities. 75 crore homes. Similarly, solar energy capacity has jumped from a mere 2 GW before 2014 to 160 GW today. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, work is rapidly progressing in 50 lakh homes. This initiative has resulted in zero electricity bills for thousands of households, and many citizens are now earning money by selling excess electricity back to the grid.
Accelerated Growth and Social Welfare
The Prime Minister provided a detailed breakdown of the growth achieved in various sectors over the last 12 years. Defense production has increased 4 times, Khadi and village industries 5 times, and electric manufacturing 7 times. The production of railway coaches has seen a 21-fold increase, while mobile phone production has surged 33 times. The number of internet users has grown 4 times, and digital transactions have skyrocketed 100 times. In terms of social welfare, the speed of providing tap water connections has increased 15 times on average every year. Gas connections are being provided 6 times faster, toilets are being built 4 times faster, and the construction of houses for the poor is happening 3 times faster than before.
