Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi during a public meeting in Surat, Gujarat. Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister stated that certain individuals are inherently pessimistic and are constantly seeking ways to belittle India on the global stage. This visit to Gujarat marks a significant milestone as the Prime Minister inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth more than 18,800 crore rupees. These projects span across various sectors including road infrastructure, electricity, and industrial development, aiming to bolster the region's economic growth.
Focus on Surat's Development and Water Economy
During his address in Surat, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the city's progress, particularly mentioning the circular water economy which has become a topic of significant discussion recently, while he emphasized that the government's current efforts are focused on ensuring a strong water supply system for Surat that will last for several decades. To achieve this, the Tapi Barrage project has been officially approved. The Prime Minister noted that numerous projects were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid today to accelerate Surat's growth. He remarked that India is currently developing with the mantra of progress alongside nature, balancing both the economy and ecology to ensure sustainable development for future generations.
Critique of Pessimism and Atmanirbhar Bharat
The Prime Minister didn't hold back in his criticism of the opposition. He stated that some pessimistic people in the country today make fun of the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. According to PM Modi, these are the same individuals who have always kept India dependent on other nations. He pointed out that a country dependent on others can never reach the heights of development it truly deserves. He asserted that India has moved past negativity and is now a nation filled with optimism and driven by extraordinary aspirations. He described the citizens of India as being full of dreams and determination, committed to turning those resolutions into reality. He added that when the collective willpower of a nation is so strong, it can achieve any goal. He told the crowd, "You walk two steps, and I am ready to walk three steps. " He also noted that no other party has received the public's blessings for such a long time, attributing this support to the government's spirit of service and the goal of achieving a developed India.
Addressing Global Challenges and Energy Crisis
Prime Minister Modi also touched upon the unprecedented challenges the world is currently facing. He recalled his previous statement that this decade is proving to be a decade of disasters for the world. He cited the major crisis of COVID-19, followed by the outbreak of wars in various regions, and the current massive energy crisis. These events have caused widespread disruption globally, leading to fluctuations in petrol prices and a crumbling gas supply chain. However, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that through the collective efforts of 140 crore Indians, the country is firmly facing every such crisis with resilience and strength.
Political Mandate and Criticism of Congress Governance
The Prime Minister emphasized that his government prioritizes national development above all else, which is why the public continues to trust the BJP and its developmental works. He mentioned his recent visit to five countries, where he observed that there was significant discussion about Bengal everywhere, while he noted that the BJP and NDA received a massive mandate in the elections held in Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry. Turning his focus back to the Congress, he accused the party of seeking opportunities by spreading chaos and uncertainty in India for the last 12 years. He stated that the people of Gujarat have pushed the Congress to the margins, and even in states where Congress governments exist, the public is fed up with their misgovernance. He cited the recent local body elections in Himachal Pradesh, where despite having a Congress government, the party faced a crushing defeat. He also mentioned that the Congress had previously lost local body elections in Haryana, and the people of Punjab have sent a clear message that the politics of seeking opportunity amidst chaos won't work, while Plus, he pointed out the heavy dissatisfaction among the people of Karnataka with the Congress government, which led to the party having to change its Chief Minister.
