PM Modi Japan-China Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on an important foreign tour from 29 August to 1 September 2025, in which he will visit Japan and China. During this, the two leaders will review the special strategic and global partnership between India and Japan. Key issues of discussion will include:

China visit: Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and bilateral relationsFrom August 31 to September 1, 2025, Prime Minister Modi will attend the 25th Heads of State Council meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tianjin, China. This visit will be his visit to China after 7 years, as before this he attended the SCO summit held in Qingdao in 2018. During this time he can also hold bilateral meetings with many other leaders.This visit, which is being held at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, can be an important step towards improving India-China relations. Despite some tension between the two countries in recent years, this visit will provide an opportunity to increase mutual trust and cooperation.
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation SummitThe SCO summit to be held in Tianjin will focus on issues such as regional security, economic cooperation and fight against terrorism. This is the fifth time China is hosting this annual summit. India, as an active member of the SCO, will play an important role in promoting regional stability and cooperation.
