The tabletop exercise took place on September 3 and 4, 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Defense of Japan. It follows the first tabletop exercise held in Hawaii in April 2025 and a subsequent field training exercise conducted in Guam in December 2025. These recurring exercises demonstrate the long-term commitment of the Quad nations to regional safety. During the recent discussions, the Quad members also expressed their condolences to those affected by recent devastating floods in the region and discussed strengthening mutual coordination to provide humanitarian aid to affected regional partners.
The Core Objective of IPLN
The fundamental goal of the IPLN is to benefit from the shared logistics capabilities of the four Quad countries to deliver relief materials and assistance to citizens during major natural disasters in the Indo-Pacific, while the network aims to save lives, accelerate relief and rehabilitation efforts, and provide essential support to regional partner countries.
