In a significant development in the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case of Indore, the primary accused and the deceased's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, has broken her silence after being released on conditional bail. Following her release from jail, Sonam interacted with the media to present her side of the story, specifically addressing widespread rumors suggesting she had fled to Nepal, while denying all such claims, she clarified her current whereabouts and emphasized her commitment to the legal process.

Sonam Refutes Rumors of Fleeing to Nepal

Speaking to the East Mojo channel, Sonam Raghuvanshi expressed her frustration over the misinformation being circulated about her. She stated that false information is being spread and appealed to the public not to believe in baseless rumors. She categorized the reports of her fleeing to Nepal as completely unfounded and fabricated. This clarification comes as a direct response to the allegations made by Vipin Raghuvanshi, the elder brother of the deceased Raja Raghuvanshi. Vipin had previously claimed that Sonam left the country for Nepal after securing bail and had subsequently demanded a CBI investigation into the matter.

Strict Adherence to Court Conditions

When questioned about whether she's following the conditions set by the court for her bail, Sonam Raghuvanshi affirmed her compliance. She stated that she has always fully followed all the bail conditions provided by the court and has no intention of crossing those legal boundaries. She revealed that she's currently residing in Shillong and has not left the city at all. Regarding her personal expenses and financial situation, she declined to comment, stating it was a private matter. Plus, citing security reasons, she chose not to disclose the exact location of her residence in Shillong to the public.

No Immediate Plans to Return to Indore

Addressing the possibility of returning to Indore, Sonam clarified that she has no such plans at the moment. She explained that since her case is still ongoing in the local jurisdiction, she will remain where she's until the legal proceedings are fully concluded. She noted that the case is currently at the hearing stage in court and reiterated that people are spreading lies about her, while sonam emphasized that she has cooperated with every court proceeding so far and intends to continue doing so, maintaining deep respect for the justice system.

Defense Lawyer Responds to Allegations

The controversy also extended to Sonam's lawyer, Sudip Rana, who was accused by Vipin Raghuvanshi of assisting Sonam in fleeing to Nepal. Responding to these claims, Sudip Rana termed the allegations as entirely false and baseless. He pointed out that being of Nepali origin doesn't mean he has a connection to the country of Nepal or that he's from there. He clarified that he was born and raised in Shillong, where he also completed his education, while he asserted that he has no relatives in Nepal. Rana highlighted that Sonam's physical presence in Shillong for the scheduled court hearing is the biggest proof that the allegations are false, confirming that neither he nor his client had left the city.

Demand for CBI Investigation Intensifies

Vipin Raghuvanshi, who is leading the fight for justice for his brother, continues to push for a CBI probe. He argued that if central agencies can investigate high-profile cases involving girls, such as the Tvisha case, then a similar approach should be taken for the brutal murder of a young man. He described the case as highly sensitive and high-profile, involving complexities across two different states, Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya. According to Vipin, a central agency investigation is necessary to ensure an unbiased probe and to bring the complete truth to light.

The Background of the Murder Conspiracy

The case dates back to May 11 2025, when Raja Raghuvanshi, a prominent transport businessman from Indore, married Sonam Raghuvanshi in a grand ceremony. Shortly after the wedding, the couple went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. However, on May 23 2025, both were reported missing. Following a search operation, the police recovered Raja Raghuvanshi's body from a deep gorge in Meghalaya on June 3 2025. Subsequent investigations revealed a murder conspiracy orchestrated under the guise of a honeymoon. Several suspects were arrested, and the police eventually identified Sonam Raghuvanshi as the primary conspirator in her husband's death, leading to her arrest and subsequent imprisonment before her recent release on bail.
