Rajasthan Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government regarding the removal of books from school curricula. Speaking to journalists at his private residence in Sikar, Dotasra stated that history related to the pride of India before and after independence is being removed from the syllabus. He termed this move a well-planned "brainwashing" campaign aimed at spreading an ideological agenda through education, while the Education Department has reportedly removed four books from the curriculum for classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th, sparking a strong reaction from the Congress party over the exclusion of Rajasthan's history.
Allegations of Imposing RSS Ideology
The PCC Chief alleged that the BJP is distributing such books at the behest of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He claimed that there is an attempt to impose the RSS ideology on teachers and students in the state's government schools. Dotasra emphasized that government employees and institutions shouldn't be utilized for the promotion of the RSS or any specific organizational propaganda.
The Legacy of 'Swarnim Bharat' Books
Highlighting the initiatives of the previous Congress government, Dotasra mentioned that they had introduced the book 'Swarnim Bharat of Pre and Post Independence' for classes 11th and 12th. The objective was to educate children about the bravery of Rajasthan, the freedom struggle, and its history. He noted that the book received praise nationwide, including from NCERT, while he challenged the current government, stating that if they've a better syllabus, they should present it, but removing existing books is unacceptable.
Warning of Protests in Lok Sabha and Assembly
Dotasra advocated for innovation in education, noting the era of Technology and Artificial Intelligence. However, he expressed serious concern over the alleged use of government teachers to spread hatred and misinformation. He issued a stern warning that the Congress party would oppose this move both in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and the Lok Sabha of the country.
AAP Labeled as BJP's 'B' Team
Addressing the issue of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MPs joining the BJP, Dotasra accused the central government of pressuring and intimidating opposition leaders to join their ranks. He labeled the Aam Aadmi Party as the "B-team" of the BJP and alleged that efforts are being made to weaken democratic values in the country.
Dotasra concluded by reiterating that spreading an ideological agenda through education and misusing government machinery is detrimental to democracy, and the Congress will continue to raise its voice against these changes.
