The Meteorological Department has issued an immediate weather warning regarding a sudden change in weather conditions across Rajasthan. According to the department, several districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, light rain, and strong winds over the next three hours. A yellow alert has been officially issued to notify residents of these impending atmospheric changes.
Yellow Alert Issued for 19 Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, isolated areas in Nagaur, Jodhpur, Sirohi, Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Tonk, Karauli, Bhilwara, Dholpur, Bundi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Baran, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Banswara districts, along with their surrounding regions, may witness thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. On top of that, strong winds with speeds ranging from 20 to 30 kilometers per hour and lightning strikes are anticipated in these locations.
Heatwave Warnings and Safety Guidelines
While some regions prepare for rain, other parts of the state are expected to maintain high temperatures. The department has advised that heatwaves or warm nights may be recorded in parts of Eastern Rajasthan over the next one or two days. In the northern parts of Western Rajasthan, maximum temperatures are likely to reach between 44 and 45 degrees Celsius. Authorities have advised the public to stay in safe places during thunderstorms, avoid taking shelter under trees, and wait for weather conditions to normalize before moving outdoors.
Impact of Upcoming Western Disturbance
Regarding the future outlook, the department stated that a weak Western Disturbance will influence the region between April 28 and April 30. Under its impact, the western and north-western parts, along with other areas, may experience thunderstorms, dust storms, and high-speed winds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. Light rain or drizzling is also expected during this period. Consequently, the state will continue to see a fluctuation between intense heat and relief-providing storms over the coming days.
Weather Statistics of the Last 24 Hours
In the past 24 hours, parts of the state recorded light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and winds blowing at speeds of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour. Night temperatures remained above normal in several locations, while 4 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur, Sikar. During the morning hours, humidity levels across most parts of the state ranged between 24 and 58 percent.
