Pakistan Elections 2024: People are on the streets due to allegations of rigging in Pakistan elections. Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is protesting across the country today. Due to this, police had to be deployed at various places. PTI has alleged rigging at polling booths in various Lok Sabha constituencies across the country. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered re-polling. This has created a stir among political parties. However, this order of the Election Commission is only for those seats where serious allegations like major rigging, snatching of ballot papers and depriving the voters of voting have been made. There will be no re-elections on other seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had received complaints of snatching of voting material from polling booths in many areas. After this the Election Commission has issued this instruction. According to Pakistan's Geo TV report, the ECP has issued orders for re-polling at all polling stations across the country amid complaints of snatching and damage of voting materials. Earlier, amidst hard work and bombardment, ECP had succeeded in holding elections on 8th February. However, despite tall claims, fair voting could not be conducted at various polling centres. In such a situation, ECP had to give this order.

Election results have not been announced yet

Election Commission of Pakistan has not yet announced the exact results of the elections even on the fourth day after the completion of voting. According to the information received so far, Imran Khan's PTI is seen getting 100 seats, Nawaz Sharif's PML-N 73 seats and Bilawal's party 52 seats. But there are some seats where the results could not be released even on the fourth day amid allegations of rigging. There is re-polling on these seats only. The Election Commission has fixed the date of February 15 for this.
