FDA Notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff

The FDA's reach has also extended to the biggest names in Bollywood regarding advertising standards. A few days ago, the Maharashtra FDA issued show-cause notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff. These notices were related to their participation in advertisements for Vimal Elaichi. The regulator alleged that these advertisements could be considered surrogate advertising for Vimal Pan Masala, a product that's currently prohibited in Maharashtra, while according to the FDA's notice, a preliminary investigation suggested that the advertisements promote the Vimal brand, which is primarily associated with pan masala. Under a restriction order issued on 13 July 2026, the manufacture, storage, transport, distribution, and sale of such pan masala have been banned for a period of 1 year. While Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff have already submitted their responses to these notices, a response from Shah Rukh Khan is still awaited.
