HSBC Maintains Positive Outlook

In addition to BofA, the international firm HSBC has also placed SBI Funds Management on its radar. The firm has issued a clear recommendation to buy the stock, setting a target price of 660. From the current market price, this indicates a significant growth potential of about 17 percent. According to the brokerage firm, the company's distribution network is performing exceptionally well. This network is expected to play a crucial role in helping the company regain its market share in Assets Under Management (AUM), which had seen some pressure recently. The firm has set a target price of 720 for the stock, which is approximately 28 percent higher than the closing price on August 28. Motilal Oswal projects that between the financial years 2026 and 2028, the company's AUM will grow at a rapid Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13 percent. Plus, the Profit After Tax (PAT) is expected to see a substantial increase of 16 percent. The Return on Equity (ROE) is also estimated to remain strong, hovering between 51 and 52 percent. In its detailed report, the firm even suggested that if market conditions remain fully favorable, the stock could potentially leap by as much as 51 percent.

The Journey Since IPO Listing

SBI Funds Management launched its highly anticipated IPO in July this year. At that time, the price band for the shares was set between 545 and 574.85 percent higher than the issue price of 574. However, following the listing, the stock faced pressure due to profit-booking by investors amidst broader market volatility. This led to a consistent decline in the share price, which eventually touched a low of 541 on August 24. Despite this temporary setback, the emergence of new brokerage reports and the initiation of coverage with 'Buy' ratings have sparked a strong buying trend once again. Investors are now looking at the current levels as an attractive entry point, given the long-term growth projections and the fundamental strength of the company's business model.
