The yatra was halted between Hanuman Chatti and Badrinath on the Badrinath National Highway due to torrential rains in Chamoli, rising water in the Khachda drain at Lambagad and landslides at Balduda. The passengers were stopped at Pandukeshwar, Badrinath Joshimath, Pipalkoti, Chamoli and Gauchar.

On the other hand, 41 devotees have died in the Char Dham Yatra so far. Most of the deaths occurred during Kedarnath Yatra. During this 15 passengers lost their lives. At the same time, 14 pilgrims died in Yamunotri, 8 in Badrinath and four in Gangotri. It is being told that the devotees have died due to high blood pressure, heart related diseases, hill climbing diseases. In such a situation, on behalf of the administration, such passengers have been advised not to travel, people who have health problems.

How many pilgrims visited

Huge crowd of devotees is gathering on Char Dham Yatra. The condition is that in Kedarnath and Badrinath there are many kilometer long lines. According to the data received from the government, after the opening of the doors of Badrinath, 176463 pilgrims have visited from 8 May to 16 May evening. At the same time, from the date of opening of Kedarnath Dham doors i.e. from May 6 to May 16, 213640 pilgrims have visited.

In view of the huge crowd, once again the number of passengers has been limited in the Chardham Yatra. This step has been taken so that the crowd remains controlled. Now 16000 devotees will be able to visit Badrinath daily, 13 000 in Kedarnath, 8,000 in Gangotri and 5,000 daily in Yamunotri.
