Uttar Pradesh News: Before the Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party has suffered a big setback in Uttar Pradesh. Party leader and former state minister Swami Prasad Maurya has left the Samajwadi Party. He has also resigned from the post of MLC. Swami Prasad has cited continuous neglect in the party as the reason for his resignation.

Resignation information given on social media

Swami Prasad Maurya himself informed about his resignation on the social media platform 'X' on Tuesday. He has shared separate pages of the resignation letter addressed to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and the Chairman of the Legislative Council on 'X'. Maurya said in a letter to SP President Akhilesh Yadav, 'I got the opportunity to work in a cordial environment under your leadership, but as a result of not taking initiative for any kind of talks on the talks held on 12th February and the letter sent on 13th February. I am also resigning from the primary membership of Samajwadi Party.

In a letter to the Chairman of the Legislative Council, Maurya said, 'I was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council from Uttar Pradesh constituency as a SP candidate. Our views were not heard in the party - Swami Prasad Maurya

Swami Prasad Maurya said that reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes is being abolished. Should have taken to the streets demanding caste wise census. Unemployment has increased wildly and inflation is breaking people's backs. Democracy is being torn to pieces. We had requested to take to the streets regarding all these issues. But till date our views have not been heard in the party. When there is discrimination in the organization itself, every statement of a National General Secretary becomes personal... When there is discrimination in the post itself and I fight against discrimination, then what is the justification for holding such a post?

Now the workers will decide what to do – Swami Prasad Maurya

Swami Prasad Maurya said that I had sent a letter of resignation to the National President on 13th mentioning all these things, he did not consider it appropriate to talk, hence I am taking steps forward. When Swami Prasad Maurya was asked what would be his future strategy, in response to this question he said that now the workers will decide what to do.
