Coronavirus - Third Wave Inevitable, Says Government Top Scientific Adviser 10 Key Points On Claim
New Delhi: The country is still struggling with the second wave of Corona, but a third wave has also been predicted. The arrival of the third wave of Corona is believed to be certain. This claim has been made by Vijay Raghavan, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Central Government. He says that a third wave of corona will also come and cannot stop it. Know here the 10 big things about Vijay Raghavan's claim to Scientific Advisor.

Vijay Raghavan warns that as SARS-COV2 is mutating further, one should be prepared for new waves. The intensity of the second wave of corona virus in the country was not predicted.

The top scientist of the country said that due to less precautionary measures, less immunity in the population from the first wave, the second wave is becoming more intense and so far thousands of people have lost their lives and millions of people have been infected all over the country.

According to the Principal Scientific Advisor, when the vaccination increases, the virus will find new ways to infect people, for which we have to be prepared. The virus keeps changing its form. So, we have to keep changing the strategy on the vaccine and other aspects.

The second wave has many factors, with the new variant of the Corona also being a factor. The second wave increased because the immunity that was created was not enough to stop the infection.

The first wave of corona was reduced due to two reasons, people who had infections, immunity and all the preventive measures including mask, social distancing, reduced infection. But when the rescue steps were relaxed, the infection started spreading again.

Scientists say that many people become infected before they reach the new immune threshold. Such a second wave is generally smaller than the first. A similar second wave was expected. However, many factors can alter the second wave to make it much larger than the first.

Talking in detail on the change of SARS-COV2 and its growing potential, he said that the virus emerged in Wuhan in 2019 and was common at the time which could infect many mammal species.

He said, by early 2021, a large number of people were infected all over the world. With increased immunity, the virus did not have an opportunity to grow. However it does find some special areas where it can spread, so it changes to spread better.

He said that by keeping the distance, the spread can be curbed. He insisted on following Kovid friendly behavior and said, 'This virus can spread from man to man only'.

VK Paul, member (health) of Niti Aayog said, "The response to the changing virus is the same". We need to follow Kovid proper behavior such as putting on masks, keeping distance from each other, maintaining hygiene, no unnecessary visits and staying at home. The disease is not spread by animals, it is human to human transmission.
