The Uttar Pradesh Election Commission officially released the final voter list for the state on April 10, 2026. Following the successful completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 campaign, the state witnessed a massive surge of 84,28,767 new voters. According to official data, the total number of registered voters in Uttar Pradesh has now reached 13,39,84,792. The revision exercise, which spanned 166 days from October 27, 2025, to April 10, 2026, aimed at ensuring an accurate and inclusive electoral roll.

Demographic Breakdown and Gender Ratio Improvement

46%) are female, and 4,206 belong to the third gender category. A significant highlight of this revision is the improvement in the gender ratio, which rose from 824 to 834. Also, there has been a remarkable increase in the 18-19 age group. The number of first-time voters in this category jumped from 3,33,981 in the draft list to 17,63,360 in the final list, marking a substantial rise in youth participation.

Geographical Growth: Prayagraj and Lucknow Lead

Analysis of the district-wise data shows that urban centers and large districts recorded the highest growth in voter numbers. Prayagraj topped the list with an addition of 3,29,421 new voters. It was followed by Lucknow with 2,85,961, Bareilly with 2,57,920, Ghaziabad with 2,43,666, and Jaunpur with 2,37,590 new registrations. In terms of assembly constituencies, Sahibabad (55) in Ghaziabad saw the highest increase with 82,898 new voters, followed by Jaunpur (366) and Lucknow West (171) with 56,118 and 54,822 additions respectively.

Administrative Execution and Field Operations

The massive exercise involved a strong administrative framework including 75 District Election Officers (DEOs), 403 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and 12,758 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs). On the ground, 1,77,516 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 18,026 supervisors conducted door-to-door verification. To address logical discrepancies, 5,621 notice hearing centers were established. 22 crore cases involving discrepancies were scrutinized, and 100% disposal was achieved by March 27, 2026.

Technological Innovations and Grievance Redressal

The Election Commission introduced several tech-driven facilities, including the 'Book a Call with BLO' service. Under this initiative, 8,63,297 calls were booked, and BLOs successfully contacted 97% of these voters, placing Uttar Pradesh first in the country for call disposal. 8% of the 1,08,529 complaints received. 19 lakh queries during the revision period.

Political Participation and Transparency Measures

To maintain transparency, the Commission held five high-level meetings with recognized political parties at the state level. Representatives from the BJP, SP, BSP, Congress, and others were kept informed about the progress and guidelines. At the booth level, 5,82,877 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from various parties actively collaborated in the process. The Commission emphasized that no names were deleted without following the prescribed legal procedure and issuing proper notices, ensuring the integrity of the final electoral roll.
