The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant weather warning for today, predicting heavy rainfall across 14 states, including Bihar and West Bengal. According to the latest updates from the weather office, several regions across the country are expected to witness intense downpours. The department has specifically placed states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Maharashtra on high alert for heavy rain. Meanwhile, the national capital region, including Delhi and its surrounding areas, is likely to experience light rain accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km per hour.

Monsoon Progress and Regional Impact

The southwest monsoon has shown significant movement, advancing through Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. The IMD predicts that the monsoon is on track to reach Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand within the next two to three days. For today, Thursday, the weather department has forecasted heavy rainfall in several regions, including Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Also, the interior parts of Karnataka, Central Maharashtra, and Marathwada are also expected to receive heavy showers. Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by strong winds are anticipated across Northern, Central, and Eastern India.

State Wise Forecast for June 25

According to the fresh forecast issued by the IMD, June 25 will see heavy rainfall in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. During this period, these states might experience storms with wind speeds ranging from 50 to 60 km per hour. In some specific locations, the wind speed could even escalate to 70 km per hour. Western Rajasthan is particularly expected to witness dust storms today. In Jharkhand, the authorities have issued warnings for heavy rain and potential lightning strikes in isolated areas. Down south, scattered rainfall is predicted for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Alerts for Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh

Between June 25 and June 26, the regions of Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are expected to receive light rainfall. This weather activity will likely be accompanied by lightning and strong winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 km per hour. Looking further ahead, between June 29 and June 30, both Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness strong winds at a speed of 60 km per hour, with rain predicted in several places across the state.

Mumbai Orange Alert and Delhi Temperature

Mumbai continues to be under an Orange Alert as the spell of heavy rain is expected to persist today. The warning for the city includes thunderstorms, lightning, intense rainfall, and winds gusting between 40 and 60 km per hour. In Delhi and its neighboring areas, the sky will remain partially cloudy. Light rain with thunderstorms is possible during the afternoon or evening hours, with winds reaching 40 to 50 km per hour. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to hover between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. On Friday, Delhi will likely remain cloudy with similar chances of light rain and thunderstorms. The temperatures for Friday are forecasted to be between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 27 to 29 degrees Celsius for the minimum, with the minimum temperature staying near normal in most places.
