Taking cognizance of the matter, the District Magistrate has started action against him. District Magistrate Neha Sharma said Mayor Pandey took her mobile phone inside the polling booth at Hudson School and took selfies during voting.

The District Magistrate, Kanpur, posted on Twitter, writing, "FIR is being registered against Mrs. Pramila Pandey under relevant sections for breach of secrecy of voting at Hudson School polling station." When Kanpur Mayor Pramila went to cast her vote, she also had a lotus flower in her hands, which is also the BJP's election symbol. However, 65-year-old Pramila says she did nothing wrong.
