Bihar: Out of 243 MLAs who won the Bihar Assembly Elections, 2020, 40 have presented wrong details of their assets in their affidavits. There are 10 MLAs in this, whose properties have been found to be a lot wrong. Some have got 20 crores more than the property shown in the wrongful affidavit, while some have got 10 crores more. In this there are MLAs of all parties including JDU, BJP, RJD, HAM, Congress. The names of Bahubali MLA Anant Singh and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi are also included. Some have also remained ministers in the current government.

This fact has come to the fore in the investigation of the Income Tax Department. After examining the assets of all the MLAs who won the election, its report has been sent to the Central Election Commission. In this, the names of 40 MLAs who gave wrong information about the assets. However, the mention of people's representatives who have lost one or two elections, that is, contesting as a candidate, is because they have got more disturbances. It is for the Central Election Commission to give the order to take final action on them. The next stage of action can be taken after getting the order from the commission.

Fine may have to be paid, legal action is also possible

These public representatives may have to pay hefty fines for filing ITR (Income Tax Return) by hiding or underreporting real assets. Legal action can also be taken against them. Many Bahubali MLAs are also among those who gave wrong details of assets. However, the Income Tax Department can tighten the noose to recover the fine from them. RJD MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, has got assets worth about Rs 20 crore more in the investigation of the property mentioned in the affidavit.

Similarly, disturbances have also been found in the property of former CM cum Hum President Jitan Ram Manjhi. But while taking the initiative to pay a fine in lieu of it, he has said to improve it. Similarly, Surendra Prasad Yadav, MLA from Belaganj of Gaya, Ritlal Yadav, MLA from Danapur, Kaushal Yadav, who contested from Nawada, and others are also included in this list.

Hide property information like this

The properties which have been mentioned in the affidavits by these MLAs have been tampered with at many levels. Due to this, they were caught in the investigation. One, they have shown less than what they have in real terms, movable and immovable. That is, some property was hidden. Some underestimated the real value of the property.

One such MLA described his property present in a very posh area of ​​Patna as only a few lakhs. Whereas in reality its cost is in crores. The details of cash and other assets deposited in the bank were also underplayed. Submit the details of assets by reducing the amount of ITR filed by less than Rs. Some did not even mention the property registered in the name of wife and children.
