According to the report of the National Library of Medicine, the use of many such drugs which increase alcohol addiction is increasing across the world. Snake venom also comes in this category. These are called psychoactive substances. From villages to cities, they are being used. A few years ago, a case came to light in India in which a 28-year-old youth drank snake venom. It started by mixing snake venom in alcohol. First he started drinking alcohol and poison mixed, then his addiction increased so much that he drank poison.

According to the report, some special species of snakes are used for this. These include Naja-naja (cobra), Ophiodryas vernalis (green snake) and Bangerus caeruleus (crown krait). Cases of snake venom addiction have been reported in many cities of the country including Mumbai and Mangaluru.

In the Elvish Yadav case, snakes of certain species have been found near the accused who have been detained by the police. Among these, 5 cobras, one python, 2 double snakes, one rat snake which is commonly called Ghoda Pachhad have been found. Apart from this, 25 ml snake venom has also been recovered. The report recorded says that he used to use the snake and its poison in rave parties.

According to the report of Science Direct, snake venom contains chemicals that give a special kind of pleasure. Fills the body with energy because it directly affects the brain. Its effect persists for several hours after intoxication.

It has been claimed in some media reports and Quora platform that a few drops of snake venom are mixed with alcohol. It works to increase the effect of intoxication. This is the reason why it is used surreptitiously in rave parties.

Alcohol and nicotine also fall in this category. Legally, they are used in the field of drug manufacturing and research. Buying it or giving it to someone without medical advice or prescription comes under the ambit of crime in many countries.

Use of such drugs directly increases the risk of death. According to WHO report, use of such drugs becomes the cause of death. 5.5 percent (27 crore) of the world's population aged 15 to 64 used such psychoactive drugs last year. In this, 5 lakh people died every year. In which there were 3,50,000 men and 1,50,000 women.
