Mumbai / Akshay Kumar announces historical drama Prithviraj on his 52nd birthday

On his 52nd birthday, Akshay Kumar has a special gift for his fans. The actor announced the historical drama Prithviraj, where he will play the grand ruler.

Akshay tweeted, "Elated to share about my 1st historical film on my birthday!Humbled to have the opportunity to play a hero I look up to for his valor & values- Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan in one of my biggest films.

Speaking about this, Akshay had said, "It is truly an honour that I will be playing the role of one of the most fearless and courageous kings of India, Prithviraj Chauhan. As a nation, we should always celebrate our heroes and immortalize what they did to propagate the values that Indians lived by. Prithviraj is our attempt to bring to light his valour and daredevilry. Prithviraj was the only person standing in front of a merciless nemesis and the bravery he showed, made him a true Indian hero, an inspiration for generations and a legend. So this announcement coming on my birthday has indeed made it more special for me."

Prithiviraj is considered one of the bravest rulers of the Chahamana dynasty, who fought against the huge Ghurid army when they tried to invade the country in 1192 CE.

Previously, Akshay had acted in the war drama Kesari, which was based on the historical battle of Saragarhi, where 21 Sikh soldiers died fighting against 10,000 Afghan troops.

On Akshay Kumar's birthday, fans are flooding Khiladi with effusive good wishes and love. Mission Mangal filmmaker Jagan Shakti also took the opportunity to wish the star on his birthday.

He wrote, "Praying and wishing my best SUPERSTAR of life ., best health, great glory and abundant happiness and wish that the positive smile of yours brightens up many more lives ., like you did mine ., wishing you a great life sir HAPPY BIRTHDAY."

It has been a good year for Akshay Kumar. After his film Kesari did well at the box office, his sci-fi film Mission Mangal crossed Rs 170 crore and emerged as one of the biggest hits of his career. The actor has several interesting films lined up, including Prithviraj, Laxmmi Bomb and Sooryavanshi.
