IPL 2023: In this season of IPL, Chennai Super Kings, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, are getting setbacks one after the other. After the defeat in the match played against Rajasthan Royals, the Chennai team has suffered another major setback. A star all-rounder player of the team has been ruled out of at least the next three matches of Chennai Super Kings due to injury. We are talking about Sisanda Magala of South Africa. During the match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Ravichandran Ashwin had injured his finger while taking a catch.

Coach gave a big update

Magala bowled only two overs against the Royals and went for 14 runs without taking a wicket. CSK coach Stephen Fleming was asked for an update on Magala's injury in the post-match press conference. Fleming confirmed Magala had injured his finger and would be out for at least the next two weeks. Chennai Super Kings have three matches to play in the next two weeks. They will next travel to Bengaluru for a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 17, followed by a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 21 and Kolkata Knight Riders on April 23.

Said this about Ben Stokes

During the same press conference, Stephen Fleming also gave an update on other CSK players. He said that Ben Stokes is being monitored daily. He will soon be available to play for CSK. Deepak Chahar will be out of action for a few weeks. Sri Lanka's Mathisha Pathirana is likely to replace Sisanda Magala in the playing 11 for the next match. It will be interesting to see whether Pathirana plays his first match of IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday. CSK fans will be hoping that Ben Stokes will be available for selection as well.
