The matter is being told of April 22. The incident took place in Malkapur Pangra village of Buldhana district of Maharashtra. According to the report of India Today, all the preparations for the wedding were done at the mandap and the auspicious time for the wedding ceremony was kept at 4 pm. The bride and her family waited for the groom to reach the venue but he did not reach the mandap till 8 pm. It was told that the groom and his friends kept on dancing and drinking on the stage.

The bride's mother said, "The groom and his friends were drunk and came to the mandap at 8 pm instead of 4 pm and started fighting because we had married our daughter to a relative." When the groom reached the mandap, the bride's father flatly refused to marry his daughter.

As all the wedding preparations were done, the bride's father consulted a relative who had come to the wedding and later married his daughter to him.
