The Delhi government has objected to the Center once again banning the doorstep delivery of ration scheme benefiting 72 lakh families in the capital Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that the door-to-door ration scheme was going to start in Delhi from this week, all preparations had been done for this, but it was stopped by the central government two days ago. The Center claims that we did not take approval. We have taken approval not once, but five times. Legally we don't need the Centre's approval, but we did so out of courtesy. Why should there not be home delivery of ration? If you stand with the ration mafia, who will stand with the poor? What will happen to those 70 lakh poor people whose ration is stolen by these ration mafia.

Kejriwal said that the ration mafia is very powerful. For the last 75 years, the people of this country have been a victim of the ration mafia. Even after that the ration gets stolen. 17 years ago, I raised my voice against this ration mafia, we were attacked 7 times by dangerous, then I had vowed that I will definitely fix this system at some point. That's why we came up with a plan to deliver ration from door to door. But because of their fear, the government is stopping it. He said that if pizza can be home delivery then why not ration?

Kejriwal said that even in times of trouble, the central government is fighting the most. In West Bengal, Mamta is fighting with Didi. Fighting with Jharkhand Govt. Maharashtra is also fighting with the government, but this is the time to work together, not to fight. Kejriwal said that I am ready to give all the credit of this scheme to the central government, but the scheme should not be stopped.

I have always supported the government in the works of public interest, so I appeal to the Prime Minister that please do not stop the door-to-door ration scheme for the poor in Delhi.

Center termed Delhi government's allegations baseless

The Delhi government on Saturday claimed that the Center had stopped its ambitious doorstep delivery of ration scheme benefiting 72 lakh ration card holders in the capital and termed the move politically motivated. However, the central government has termed the allegations as baseless. The central government said in a statement that the Delhi government can distribute ration in any way it wants and it has not stopped the Delhi government from doing so.

According to the statement, they can do the same under any other scheme. The Government of India will provide ration for this as per the notified rates. It would be absolutely wrong to say that the central government is preventing anyone from doing something. According to this, the central government is also ready to provide additional ration to Delhi, then the Delhi government will distribute it in any way it wants. Why would the central government deprive citizens of any public welfare scheme?
