New Delhi. Coronavirus cases continue to decline in the national capital Delhi. According to the latest data released by the Health Department, 576 new patients have been found in the last 24 hours. Today 103 patients have died due to infection. However, the death toll has increased compared to Tuesday. 1,287 patients have succeeded in beating Corona. Now the active case in Delhi has gone up to 9,364. So far a total of 14,27,439 corona cases have been reported. Now the positivity rate in Delhi has come down to 0.78 percent.

Here, the first dose of monoclonal antibody has been given at Apollo Hospital in Delhi. By selecting the right patients, this medicine is being given to them by the hospital. It was informed by the hospital that a 65-year-old patient who was given an antibody cocktail at the very beginning of the corona. Further, his infection could be serious, keeping this in mind, he was given this antibody and was monitored for an hour. After this it was seen that this antibody has a good effect in that patient. Now preparations are being done in Ganga Ram Hospital also.

what is cocktail drug

The 'Antibody Cocktail' is a combination of two medicines Casirivimab and Imdevimab that increase a patient's potency in fighting corona. In this, the virus is attacked from two sides. An 'antibody cocktail' drug is prepared by mixing 600-600 mg of these two drugs. According to experts, this drug prevents the corona virus from entering human cells, due to which the virus does not get nutrition. In this way, this drug prevents the virus from replicating i.e. does not allow it to be made in large numbers. At present, the price of a single dose has been fixed at around Rs 59,000. In simple words, when someone is infected, the body takes an average of two weeks to make antibodies, but this drug is a ready made immunity. The 'cocktail drug' starts working as soon as it enters the body and prevents the disease and symptoms of the infected patient from coming out. This antibody lasts for 3 to 4 weeks. Till then the patient is cured. Consumption of this medicine reduces the chances of the patient being admitted for treatment. It also helps in reducing death.
