But now the government telecom company BSNL is also fully ready to enter this segment. Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told that BSNL's 5G services will be started in the next 5 to 7 months.

It is believed that BSNL's 5G services will be cheaper than Jio and Airtel. However, right now both the companies are providing 5G facility on 4G plan only. But it is certain that after the end of the Welcome Plan period of the companies, you will have to pay more money than 4G.

1.35 lakh towers will be updated

Union Telecom and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Thursday that state-owned BSNL's 4G technology will be updated to 5G in the next 5-7 months. He said that it will be started in 1.35 lakh telecom towers of the company in the country. Vaishnav said the government plans to increase the Telecom Technology Development Fund from Rs 500 crore to Rs 4,000 crore per year to encourage indigenous innovation.

BSNL will compete with private companies

In response to a question asked by Kotak Bank CEO Uday Kotak about the role of BSNL in the telecom sector, Vaishnav said that BSNL will be in a very strong position in the telecom sector. He said that BSNL has about 1,35,000 mobile towers across the country. The company has a very strong presence in rural areas, where other telecom companies are yet to reach completely.
