IPL2022 / Gujarat beat Chennai by 3 wickets in a thrilling match

In the 29th match of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 3 wickets. Gujarat had a target of 171 runs, which the team achieved in the last over by losing 7 wickets. David Miller played the most innings of 94 not out in the win. Rashid also contributed 40 runs.

Gujarat had lost 5 wickets for 87 and defeat was hovering over the team, but Miller and Rashid Khan did not give up and changed the picture of the match by adding 70 runs from 37 balls for the sixth wicket. This was the 5th win for GT in 6 matches and the team remains at number 1 on the points table with 10 points. At the same time, this is Chennai's fifth defeat in 6 matches. The team has won only 1 match so far.

Earlier, batting after losing the toss, Chennai scored 169 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad scored the highest 73 runs. Alzarri Joseph took 2 wickets for Gujarat.

Miller showed his mettle

T20 specialist David Miller showed a wonderful game amidst the falling wickets. He completed the 11th half-century of his IPL career in 28 balls. In the 12th over of the innings, Jadeja also hit two consecutive sixes.

This was Miller's second fifty against CSK.

Miller and Tewatia added 39 runs in 28 balls for the 5th wicket.

Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, playing his first match this season, could not show anything special. Saha was dismissed for 11 off 18 balls by Ravindra Jadeja. His catch was caught by Rituraj Gaikwad at deep square leg.

Shami got wicket on DRS

Mohammed Shami got the first breakthrough for Gujarat by dismissing Robin Uthappa. Shami appealed for LBW against Uthappa, which was rejected by the umpire.
