Cricket / India beat West Indies by 17 runs to clean sweep for the third time

Team India defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the third and final T20 match and made a clean sweep in the 3-match series. West Indies had a target of 185 runs, in response to which the team could only score 167/9 and lost the match. Nicholas Pooran (61) was the top scorer. Harshal Patel took 3 wickets for India. Earlier, Rohit Brigade had won all the matches of the 3-match ODI series as well.

Earlier, after losing the toss, Team India made a score of 184/5 while batting first. Suryakumar Yadav (65) was the top scorer, while Venkatesh Iyer played an unbeaten knock of 35 runs. For WI, Jason Holder, Roston Chase, Hayden Walsh, Romario Shepherd and Dominic Drakes took 1-1 wickets.

West Indies batsmen disappointed again

Chasing the target, WI had a poor start and in the very first over, Kyle Meyers (6) gave his wicket to Deepak Chahar. India got this success on DRS. Actually, the Indian team had appealed for a keeper catch, but the umpire rejected it. After this Rohit took the review. Replays showed that the ball had gone into the hands of keeper Ishan Kishan, taking the outer edge of Meyers's bat.

Chahar got the second blow to WI by dismissing Shai Hope (8) in his very next over. After this, Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell put the Windies back in the match by adding 47 runs in just 25 balls. The break on this partnership was put by Harshal Patel by dismissing Powell (25). Venkatesh Iyer dealt a big blow to the visiting team by dismissing Kieron Pollard (5).

Venkatesh showed the way out of the field by dismissing Jason Holder (2) in his next over. The wicket of Roston Chase (12) came in Harshal Patel's account. After this, Nicholas Pooran and Romario Shepherd added 48 runs in 25 balls for the 7th wicket to make the match exciting. Shardul made India's comeback by taking the wicket of Pooran (61). Romario Shepherd (29) was dismissed by Harshal and confirmed the victory of the Indian team.

Team India rained runs

Batting first, India got off to a bad start and in the third over, Rituraj Gaikwad was dismissed for 4 runs. After this, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer added 53 runs in 36 balls for the second wicket. This partnership was broken by Hayden Walsh by dismissing Shreyas (25). In the very next over, Roston Chase bowled Ishaan (34) to give WI's third success.

Rohit Sharma to bat at number 4 in this match, but was dismissed after scoring only 7 runs in 15 balls. Hitman was bowled by Dominic Drakes. Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer put on brilliant batting for the 5th wicket and added 91 runs in 37 balls. Surya played an amazing innings and scored a career-best 65 runs. At the same time, Venkatesh remained unbeaten on 35 runs off 19 balls. India scored 86 runs in the last 30 balls.

Young fast bowler Avesh Khan got a chance to make his international debut from this match. Avesh has become the 96th player from India to make his T20 debut. Bhuvneshwar Kumar handed over the debut cap to Avesh, popularly known as Indore Express.
