IND vs WI: India won the first Test of the West Indies tour by an innings and 141 runs. The team has taken a 1-0 lead in the 2-Test series. The second match will be played in Port of Spain from 20 July. Ravichandran Ashwin and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal, who sat out in the WTC final, were the heroes of this victory. Ravichandran took 12 wickets in this match, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 171 runs. He was the player of the match. Captain Rohit Sharma also played a century innings. Electing to bat after winning the toss at the Windsor Park ground in Dominica, the West Indies team was all out for 150 runs in the first innings. In response, India declared their first innings at 421/5. West Indies were all out for 130 runs in the second innings.

Jaiswal is the third Indian to score the most runs in debut test

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the third Indian to score the most runs in the debut test. He got out after scoring 171 runs. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan (187 runs) and Rohit Sharma (177 runs) scored more runs than Jaiswal in the debut match. Jaiswal left behind the score of Shreyas Iyer (170 runs).

Kohli-Jaiswal's century partnership

There was a century partnership for the third wicket between Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both added 110 runs on 283 balls.

The Indian team extended their first innings by 80 runs on Thursday, the second day of the match. Rohit Sharma, who came out to play on a personal score of 30 runs, added 73 runs in his innings and scored the 10th century of his Test career. This is his 7th century while opening in Tests. Including all three formats, he has got his 44th international century.

There was an opening partnership of 229 runs between Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal playing the debut match. Rohit-Jaiswal set a new record for the highest opening partnership for India against the West Indies. Earlier this record was in the name of Sanjay Bangar and Virender Sehwag.

The first day's game was entirely in the name of Team India. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Windies team got all out for 150 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin took 5 wickets from India. He became the third Indian bowler to take 700 or more wickets.

West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first at the Windsor Park ground in Dominica. Alyque Athanaj, who is debuting with the host team, scored the most runs. However, he could not score a half-century, he was dismissed after scoring 47 runs. Captain Craig Braithwaite scored 20 runs and Tejnarine Chanderpaul scored 12 runs.
