IND vs PAK: With the help of captain Sunil Chhetri's brilliant hat-trick, the Indian football team defeated its arch-rivals Pakistan 4-0 in the SAFF Championship on Wednesday. The Indian team recently defeated Lebanon 1-0 in the Intercontinental Cup. The confidence that the team got from this victory was shown in the match against Pakistan and Team India defeated Pakistan in a one-sided manner. With this victory, India has made a winning debut in the SAFF Championship.

The Indian captain had already put India ahead by scoring two goals in the first half. After this Pakistan team could never come back. In the second half, she tried to score an equalizing goal but she could not create many chances. Chhetri scored another goal in the second half and Undata Singh scored a goal.

The Indian team started putting pressure on Pakistan from the very first minute. In the very first minute, India got a free kick which was taken by Anirudh Thapa. However, the goal could not be scored. In the second minute, Sunil Chhetri's header went outside the box. In the fourth minute, Pakistan also created an opportunity, which Isah Sulaiman could not convert into a goal. Sunil Chhetri also missed the chance in the eighth minute. However, Team India got success in the 10th minute. It was the captain who gave him this success. Chhetri put India ahead 1-0 by putting the ball into the net with a powerful kick from the center of the box with his left foot.

In the 16th minute, there was another foul from Pakistan and here Team India got a penalty. Captain Chhetri did not let go of this opportunity and put the team ahead 2-0 by easily hitting the ball into the left corner of the goalpost. Pakistan again created some chances but could not convert them. India ended the first half with a scoreline of 2-0. However, at the end of the first half, Team India was shown a red card to coach Igor Stimach.

Showed strength in the second half as well

India started the second half aggressively. In the third minute of the second half, Sahal Samad tried to score from the center of the box but his kick went wide of the right edge. Three minutes later, Ashiq Kurian also created a chance but this too could not be converted into a goal.

Pakistan made another mistake in the 73rd minute. Muhammad Sufyan Asif of Pakistan fouled in the penalty area and India got a penalty. Captain Chhetri made no mistake in converting this opportunity into a goal and completed the hat-trick by scoring the third goal. Team India did not stop here. In the 81st minute, Udanta Singh scored India's fourth and his first goal by putting the ball into the net on Anwar Ali's pass.
