Sports Desk: There was finally some respite for the Indians, as boxing produced a good result. Lovlina Borgohain was involved in her welterweight clash against Nadine Apetz of Germany in the pre-quarters of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.She won by a close margin of 3-2 on Tuesday. In the opening round, she had won it 3-2, thus creating pressure on the German.In the following round, she lashed out punches at her, thus derailing her defence. As for the final round, she showed relentlessness, keeping the German on her toes, besides maintaining her composure, thus winning it and sealing her place in the quarters.As a result, she has now become only the second Indian boxer to progress to the quarters after MC Mary Kom. For the male section, all three (Ashish Kumar, Manish Kaushik and Vikas Krishan) were ousted in the opening pre-quarters bout.
