Entertainment News: The hearing in the sexual harassment case of Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played the role of Mrs. Sodhi in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', has been held in her favor, after which now the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi has to pay the outstanding amount and Rs 5 lakh. Order to pay compensation has been received. Let us tell you that in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', Mrs. Sodhi i.e. Jennifer Mistry accused Asit Kumar Modi of sexual harassment, after which action in this case proceeded with the help of Maharashtra Government. Jennifer Mistry had earlier expressed her displeasure that despite the verdict in her favour, the accused was not punished. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal is famous for her role of Mrs. Sodhi in the famous TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' and she came into limelight when she accused the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi of sexual harassment at the workplace. Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal had filed a case of sexual harassment against Asit Kumar Modi, Sohil Ramani and Jatin Ramani last year.

Finally, a ray of hope has appeared in her ongoing fight regarding the case. When no response was received from the Mumbai Police, the actress sought help from the Maharashtra government. After the formation of the local complaint committee, action in this case intensified, after which Asit Kumar Modi was found guilty within four months under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act 2013. ETimes TV contacted Jennifer Mistry. The actress has spoken openly about the matter.

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal gave mixed reaction on this decision

Last year, ETimes TV was the first to report on this matter and Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal's words were put before the world. The effect of this was that other actors of the show like Monica Bhadoria, Priya Ahuja Rajda and former director Malav Rajda also spoke openly about the misbehavior they faced. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal was initially very hesitant to speak on this matter, but after being requested, she came forward openly and confirmed the news. However, their reactions are mixed regarding the results that have come out in this case. It is true that she considers it a victory but on the other hand she is also disappointed with the result.

'No punishment has been given to the three accused'

One said, 'I am very sad to say that police officers have not been able to do this in the last one year. The decision has come in my favor, confirming all the allegations made by me with strong evidence. This decision is more than the achievements of the police last year. Asit Kumar Modi has been ordered to pay Rs 5 lakh. Asit Kumar Modi has been ordered to pay me my dues and extra compensation for deliberately withholding my payment, which totals to around Rs 25-30 lakh. An additional fine of Rs 5 lakh has been imposed on Modi for harassment. The decision has come on 15 February 2024, but I was asked not to share it in the media. However, I believe that a woman's reputation matters most. It's been more than 40 days and I still haven't received my due amount which I was supposed to get after hard work in the serial. Despite proving Modi guilty of sexual harassment, no punishment has been given to the three accused.

'Despite follow up, no result came from police officials'

He said, 'Yes, this decision is in my favor, I have given strong evidence for the allegations made. I had filed a case of sexual harassment against the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, my ex-producer Asit Kumar Modi, operations head Sohil Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. When there was no result from the police officials despite several follow-ups, I appealed to the Maharashtra government. A local grievance committee was formed and it was resolved quickly.
