T20 World Cup : In his last T20 International as captain, Virat Kohli had a chance to bat on the field and lead Team India to victory, but he did not do so. He sent Suryakumar Yadav to bat at number three in his place and also explained the reason for this sacrifice after the match. Virat said after the match that Surya did not get much batting opportunity in this World Cup and that was the reason why he decided to send Surya instead of himself coming at number three.

Virat said after the match, 'It was a good responsibility to captain. We did well as a team even though we didn't go further in this World Cup. The way we have played the last three matches, it has been a positive thing. We are not a team giving excuses for the toss. We were not fearless in the first two matches. Thanking the entire support staff including head coach Ravi Shastri, Virat said, 'I thank all the coaches. We are grateful to him because he has created a culture in this team. On behalf of all of us players, I express my gratitude to him.

Virat also said that he may not be the captain anymore, but there will be no reduction in his aggression on the field. If I am not able to play with enthusiasm, then I will stop playing cricket. I always try to give my 120 percent. I felt that if Surya did not get many opportunities, then we gave him a chance to collect good memories of the World Cup.
