Armaan Jaffer, who came to the crease after Tamore's dismissal, tried to maintain the pace of the innings with skipper Shaw, but the Madhya Pradesh bowlers continued to bowl outside the off-stump and kept the runs under control. Ultimately, Shaw's patience was broken and in the 16th over he bowled the ball on the tenth stump by Gaurav Yadav into the hands of Dube standing on point.

After the dismissal of Shaw (52 balls 44 runs), Suved Parker came to the crease who has scored nine runs till the end of the day's play while Jaffer is playing on 30 runs. Mumbai is still behind by 49 runs in the match. If the match ends in a draw, Madhya Pradesh will win their first Ranji Trophy on the basis of scoring more runs in the first innings.

Madhya Pradesh still has the lead on first innings basis, Madhya Pradesh will be able to win their maiden title if some major upsets don't happen on the fifth day. The team of Madhya Pradesh last reached the Ranji final in 1998-99 but then they had to face defeat against Karnataka.

Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw returned to the pavilion after scoring 44 off 52 balls in the second innings. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Mumbai's team is still 50 runs behind Madhya Pradesh's first innings lead.

Mumbai have made a strong start in their second innings. The team has scored 61 runs in the first 10 overs. However, in the 11th over, the team has suffered a major setback in the form of Hardik. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 63 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a fifty in the first innings, did not come for the opening.
