Mohammed Shami: Indian team's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been given the Arjuna Award by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Sports Ministry had already announced to give Arjuna Award to 26 players including Shami. Based on the recommendations of the committee and after proper investigation, the government decided to give awards to players, coaches and institutions.

Shami received Arjun Award

Mohammed Shami had performed amazingly for the Indian team in the ODI World Cup 2023. He has been the highest wicket taker for India in the ODI World Cup 2023. His line length is absolutely perfect. For this reason, batsmen are unable to understand their ball and get out. He took 7 wickets in the semi-final match against New Zealand. He emerged as the biggest match winner for the team. He took 24 wickets in 7 matches of ODI World Cup 2023. Now he has been rewarded for his excellent performance.

Shami said this

When Mohammed Shami was asked about being selected for the Arjun Award, he said that this award is a dream, life passes and people are not able to win this award. I am happy that I have been nominated for this award. Since the World Cup, Shami has been out of the team due to injury. For this reason he has not got a place in the Test series against South Africa.

On his return, he said that getting injured is a part of the game. Every player dreams of always being on the field. Players also try to return to the field as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I will be grateful for the love that people have given me. One should always enter the field with a positive mindset.

Played all three formats for India

Mohammed Shami is counted among the best bowlers of India. He made his debut for India in the year 2013. Since then, he has become an important link in the fast bowling attack of Team India. He has played 64 Tests, 101 ODIs and 23 T20 matches for India.
