Mumbai : Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who is facing the heat of investigation in the Patra Chawl case, does not seem to be getting any relief. On Tuesday, his custody was extended till October 10. Enforcement Directorate is investigating the Patra Chawl land scam of more than Rs 1 thousand crore. Apart from this, interrogation of other related people in the case is also going on.

Raut, who arrived for hearing on Tuesday, will have to remain in custody till October 10. Earlier, the matter was heard in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Special Court on 19 September. During that the detention period of the senior Shiv Sena leader was extended for 14 days.

The probe agency had arrested Raut on August 1 for alleged economic irregularities in the Patra Chawl redevelopment project. Earlier on June 28, he was also called by the ED for questioning. In August, Raut's wife Varsha Raut had also appeared before the probe agency for questioning.

News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that Rs 11.50 lakh was seized during the raid at Raut's residence. Shortly after this, he was arrested in the scam case. In April this year also, the ED had attached assets worth Rs 11.15 crore. This includes a flat in Dadar in the name of his wife and 8 pieces of land near Alibaug. Swapna Patkar also has a stake in the land.
