Cricket Desk: Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan recently named his all-time best Indian Premier League (IPL) XI featuring some of the biggest names in the league. Shakib, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL, named the legendary MS Dhoni as the captain of his side. Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to three titles and a staggering eight final appearances since the inception of the league in 2008.

Shakib snubbed Chris Gayle to name David Warner and Rohit Sharma as the openers in his all-time IPL XI. Rohit and Warner have been two of the most prolific run-getters in IPL and are among the top five run-scorers in the history of the league. At no.3, the Bangladesh all-rounder went for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli, who is the highest run-getter in the history of IPL.

Kohli has been an epitome of consistency in the IPL and is the only batsman to have managed to cross the 6,000 run mark so far in the league. Shakib picked Chennai Super Kings' highest run-getter Suresh Raina at no.4 followed by Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul and MS Dhoni in the middle order.

Shakib did not name himself in the XI and picked Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes as the all-rounder in his side. Both Jadeja and Stokes are among the best all-rounders in the world across formats at present. While Jadeja has 2290 runs and 120 wickets to his name, Stokes has so far amassed 920 runs and picked up 28 wickets in 43 matches in IPL.

In the bowling attack, Shakib named the legendary Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga to spearhead his pace attack also comprising of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Jadeja is the only spinner in the line-up while there are four pace-bowling options in the star-studded side.
