Bangladesh's ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to 6 months in jail in a contempt of court case. This order was given by a bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ghulam Murtuza Majumdar. Shakeel Akand Bulbul also got a sentence of two months. Hasina is facing serious charges like corruption and murder.

Sheikh Hasina News: Bangladesh's ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently been sentenced in an important legal case. According to local media, she has been sentenced to six months in jail in a case of contempt of court. The verdict was pronounced on Wednesday by a three-member bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ghulam Murtuza Majumdar. The bench also included Justice Mohammad Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Mohammad Mohitul Haque Inam Chowdhury.

Case details

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, another accused in the case, Shakeel Akand Bulbul alias Mohammad Shakeel Alam of Gobindganj, Gaibandha, has also been sentenced to two months. This sentence is one of the many cases going on against Sheikh Hasina after the coup in Bangladesh. There are serious allegations against her ranging from corruption to murder, due to which her opponents are demanding her extradition from India and death penalty.
