Team India Sponsors: Two big sponsors of Indian cricket team 'BYJU'S' and 'MPL Sports' want to end their sponsorship agreement with BCCI. In June, Byju's extended its jersey sponsorship deal with the board till November 2023 for around $35 million. Byju's now wants to terminate its agreement with BCCI, but the board has asked the company to continue the agreement till at least March 2023.

According to a BCCI note on the matter, 'BCCI received an email from Byjus on 4 November 2022, requesting him to end his association after the recently concluded T20 World Cup. As per our discussion with BYJU'S we have asked them to continue with the existing arrangement and continue this partnership at least till 31st March 2023.

The matter was discussed in the BCCI Apex Council held on Wednesday. Byju's replaced 'Oppo' in 2019. Byju's was among the sponsors of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Team kit and 'merchandise' sponsor MPL also told BCCI that it wanted to give its rights only to Kiran Clothing Limited (KKCL). His current contract is valid till 31 December 2023. MPL replaced 'Nike' in November 2020.

According to this note, the BCCI had received an email from MPL Sports on December 2, 2022, in which it had given its contract (team and merchandise) completely from December 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, to 'only Kiran Clothing Limited (a fashion brand)'. has demanded. According to the email, "We have asked MPL Sports to continue the association till March 31, 2023, or enter into a partial agreement consisting only of the 'logo' on the right chest, but not the kit making agreement." At the beginning of the year, Paytm had given its 'title' sponsorship deal to 'Mastercard' for the domestic season of Indian cricket. The decision on the central contract will be taken only after the formation of the selection panel. The BCCI had sacked the panel headed by Chetan Sharma after the T20 World Cup in Australia.
