Auto Expo 2023: During the last few months, several media reports said that a new SUV could be launched by Tata in the C-segment, which could be named Blackbird (Kali Chidiya in Hindi). But, for the recent few days it is being said that the Tata Blackbird SUV will not be launched, but Tata will bring a different SUV in its place. Now when the Blackbird SUV was not introduced by Tata in Auto Expo 2023, it seems to be a complete confirmation that Tata has dropped the Blackbird project because if Tata had plans to launch it, it would have been an auto The expo would have showcased it whereas this did not happen. Tata introduced about 20 products at the Auto Expo 2023 but none of them had a product named Blackbird.

What is Tata's Plan B?

Tata Motors has Tata Nexon as a sub-4 meter SUV and Tata Harrier as a mid-size SUV, which is about 4.6 meters in length. In such a situation, Tata Motors wants to bring a new SUV, which will fit somewhere between 4 meters and 4.6 meters. Earlier there were talks of bringing Blackbird for this, but now the same will not be brought. Instead, Tata will bring the ICE version of its Curve. Tata has also confirmed that it will bring the Curve in the ICE version as well.

Tata also showcased the Curve in early 2022 and has now showcased it again at the Auto Expo 2023. However, the EV version of the Curve can be introduced first, then the ICE version can be introduced sometime after that. Tata Curve will get coupe styled design. There will be a tapering roofline, due to which the rear seat headroom may be less. It will be quite feature loaded.

It will have many features like large infotainment screen, 360-degree camera, digital instrument cluster and ventilated seats. Upgraded 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine options can be found in the car.
