IND vs SA | Indian team's star wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been given the command of the team for the five-match T20 series against South Africa. KL Rahul was chosen as the captain of the team for this series after regular captain Rohit was rested. But a day before the start of the series, Rahul got injured, after which Rishabh Pant has been made the captain and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been made the vice-captain.

Rishabh Pant could not win his team in the first two matches and his batting was also under question. Pant has been an integral part of the Indian team for a long time. But former India opener Wasim Jaffer believes that Rishabh Pant's place in the team is in danger. He feels that his place in the upcoming matches is not certain due to lack of consistency in performance.

Wasim Jaffer told ESPN, “You have KL Rahul, once he is back in the team, he can also bat well along with wicketkeeping. If Dinesh Karthik is expected to play then he is also a wicketkeeper. So I am not sure, the way Rishabh Pant has played in recent times. I'm not sure about them.

He added, "I think he needs to score and score runs consistently. He did not do in IPL and has not been able to score runs in many international T20 matches as well. I have said this many times. The way he played in Test cricket, the way he played in some ODIs. He hasn't done much in T20. So going forward, I am not sure about his place.
