The Badrinath Dham, one of the most prestigious and sacred pilgrimage sites in India, has come under the spotlight following serious allegations of irregularities in offerings and donations. These allegations have surfaced shortly after similar reports of donation theft emerged regarding the Ayodhya Ram Temple, causing a significant stir on social media platforms. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has taken these reports with utmost seriousness and has initiated immediate administrative action to maintain the sanctity and transparency of the temple's financial dealings.

BKTC President Orders High-Level Investigation

In response to the growing concerns and viral reports on social media, BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi has officially addressed the situation. He stated that the committee has taken these allegations very seriously and won't tolerate any form of financial misconduct. To ensure a fair and transparent inquiry, a dedicated investigation committee has been constituted. This committee is tasked with conducting a thorough probe into the matter and has already begun summoning the employees associated with the allegations to provide their explanations.

Hemant Dwivedi emphasized that the investigation will be conducted with complete impartiality. He assured the public and the devotees that if any wrongdoing is discovered during the course of the probe, the individuals responsible will face strict consequences. The President made it clear that no one, regardless of their position, will be spared if found guilty of misappropriating temple funds or offerings.

Clarification on Employee Status

During his address, Hemant Dwivedi also took the opportunity to debunk certain claims circulating on social media. There were reports suggesting that one of the employees involved in the allegations was his personal secretary. Dwivedi categorically denied these claims, clarifying that the individual in question isn't his private secretary but a regular government employee of the BKTC. He reiterated that the law would take its course and the employee would be subject to the same rigorous investigation as anyone else. If the allegations are proven true, the employee will face harsh disciplinary and legal action as per the established rules.

CCTV Footage and Procedural Details

Sohan Singh Rangad, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the BKTC, provided further details regarding the timeline and the evidence being gathered. He mentioned that the committee received a formal complaint regarding the matter, which had been circulating since 2 July. In response, the authorities have already started reviewing the CCTV footage from the Badrinath temple premises. Although the CEO noted that the footage isn't entirely clear, the investigation is proceeding based on all available visual evidence.

An internal investigation team is being formed to compile a comprehensive report. This team will analyze all evidence, including the CCTV recordings and the statements provided by the summoned employees. The CEO highlighted that the investigation would be thorough and evidence-based to ensure that justice is served and the temple's reputation is upheld.

Legal Framework and Public Appeal

The BKTC has stated that any irregularities or financial discrepancies found during the investigation will be dealt with under the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Act, 1939. On top of that, the employees involved will be subject to the Employee Conduct Rules, while this means that the culprits could face both departmental disciplinary actions and legal proceedings under the statutory framework governing the temple's administration.

So, to wrap up, Sohan Singh Rangad appealed to the general public and the media to exercise restraint, while he urged people to avoid spreading unconfirmed or misleading allegations until the investigation is complete. The committee remains committed to transparency and will share the findings of the report once the internal team concludes its work, ensuring that the faith of millions of devotees remains unshaken.
