The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the venues and fixtures for the upcoming series involving India A and the Indian Women’s national team. A significant highlight of this announcement is the anticipated inclusion of young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the India A squad. Currently participating in IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi is being prepared for his international debut in white-ball cricket. Following the IPL, India is scheduled to play against teams like Ireland and Zimbabwe, where Sooryavanshi is expected to get an opportunity. However, the immediate focus remains on the India A series against Australia A, scheduled for September and October this year.
India A vs Australia A: Series Schedule and Venue
The series between India A and Australia A will feature two multi-day (4-day) matches followed by a three-match ODI series. All matches are slated to take place in Puducherry.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Performance and Statistics
The expectation for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s selection stems from his stellar performance in the Emerging Asia Cup 2025. During that tournament, he wasn't only the top scorer for India A but also the second-highest run-getter overall. 87, including 22 sixes. He held the record for the most sixes and the highest strike rate in the Emerging Asia Cup 2025, with a top score of 144 runs. While his spot in the ODI squad against Australia A seems certain based on these figures, his participation in the preceding red-ball matches remains to be confirmed. If he plays, it will mark his first appearance in Puducherry.
India Women vs Zimbabwe: White-Ball Series Details
In addition to the India A schedule, the BCCI has announced a white-ball series for the Indian Women’s team against Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean team will tour India in October for three T20Is and three ODIs. The T20I series will be hosted in Raipur, with matches scheduled for October 16, 18, and 20. The action will then shift to Vadodara for the ODI series, with matches taking place on October 23, 25, and 28.
This comprehensive schedule marks a busy period for Indian cricket, providing a platform for emerging talents like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to transition into the senior developmental squads while the women's team continues its international home season against Zimbabwe.
