Sunil Sharma, while addressing the gathered crowd and the media, dared Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to resign from his home assembly constituency of Ganderbal. Sharma asserted that if the restoration of statehood is truly the primary concern and the core issue for Abdullah and his party, he should prove it by seeking a fresh mandate from the people on this single agenda. Sharma stated that if Abdullah has any self-respect left, he should step down and contest the elections again specifically on the platform of statehood restoration, while the BJP leader emphasized that only then would the public believe that this is a genuine issue for the National Conference and not just a political tool. The Leader of the Opposition further extended his criticism to the healthcare and education sectors. He claimed that the condition of hospitals in the province is deplorable, with a significant shortage of doctors and medical staff. He remarked that there is no one to look after the poor patients who rely on government facilities. Similarly, in the education sector, Sharma alleged that schools are functioning without adequate teachers, masters, or even headmasters. He took a sharp dig at Omar Abdullah's leadership style, questioning whether the people had elected him to live like a prince and spend his time skiing in luxury destinations like Gulmarg and Pahalgam while the public suffers due to lack of basic infrastructure.

Sunil Sharma accused the National Conference government of outsourcing 25000 jobs instead of conducting fair and transparent recruitment processes.
