The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has initiated a significant administrative overhaul in the management and operations of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Following a series of developments, including a reported case of donation theft, the trust is actively restructuring its leadership to ensure transparency and efficiency. In a major move, CA Narpat Dukia has been appointed as the head of the Temple Operations and Management Unit. This appointment marks a pivotal step in the trust's efforts to streamline the administrative framework of the temple complex.
Official Appointment and Leadership Roles
The formal order for CA Narpat Dukia's appointment was issued by Dr. Krishna Mohan, the interim General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. According to a letter released by the trust dated August 8 2026, Dukia will now lead the unit responsible for the overall coordination and management of temple activities. Narpat Dukia is known to be a close associate of Dr. Krishna Mohan, and his new role places him at the center of the temple's administrative machinery.
In addition to Dukia's appointment, the trust has also named Acharya Indradev Mishra as his assistant. Acharya Indradev Mishra, who currently serves as the Principal of the Ram Veda Vidyalaya in Ayodhya, has been given this additional responsibility to support the management unit. His tenure in this role is scheduled to continue until December 2026. Together, Dukia and Mishra will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring that the decisions made by the trust are implemented effectively across all levels.
Responsibilities and Coordination
The scope of CA Narpat Dukia's responsibilities is extensive. He's tasked with coordinating the overall administrative arrangements of the temple and maintaining synergy between various departments. His role involves monitoring the systems in place and ensuring that the trust's directives are executed without delay. On the other hand, the team will also manage the religious aspects of the temple, including the conduct of daily prayers (Nitya Pujan), Yagyas, and Vedic rituals. They will also be responsible for organizing various festivals and programs as per the instructions of the religious committee.
Ongoing Restructuring and CEO Selection
This appointment follows the recent selection of Jagdish Shankar Afle as the first secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust last month. Afle, who previously served as a project manager during the temple's construction, was brought into the trust's core administrative team as part of the same restructuring process. The trust is now focusing on separating administrative management from religious rituals to ensure better coordination and accountability.
The search for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is also reaching its final stages. The trust has scheduled interviews for the CEO position today, while the recruitment process has seen an overwhelming response, with more than 5000 individuals applying for the post. 5 dozen candidates have been shortlisted for the final interview round. The trust has emphasized maintaining high levels of security and confidentiality during the interview process within the Ram Mandir premises. On top of that, the appointment of an official spokesperson is also in its final phase, with an announcement expected soon.
